When flying to Europe, you’re required to fill out forms on the plane before you land. You leave the plane and go directly to the desks where you present your forms and your passports. You think the lines at Disney World are long? Try entering the U.K. ! The lines weeve in and out through the cordoned off areas and I’m sure the people were there for hours. First class got a ‘fastpass’. Isn’t that awesome. It saved us hours. Right to the front of the line!
After getting our bags, we used the other card they gave us. A complimentary card to the ‘Yotel’. Isn’t it fun to find out there are secret perks and we got to use them. A Yotel is a little mini hotel in the airport building. We checked into it like a real hotel even though it looked like a sleeper train. The rooms were little pods on either side of a very narrow, very silent hallway. It looked very Star Trek and modern. We had the use of it for up to 24 hours. I can see business travellers using this place before a meeting to relax after such a long trip. This is an efficient luxury that we were able to make use of, a chance to freshen up, shower, change our clothes and hit the streets of London like a proper tourist.
I’m not going to brag anymore about our perks. It was super fun to experience luxuries that we didn’t have to pay for and I wanted to share with you a glimpse of what life can be like on the other side.
But now,…London here we come!
